Hi folks...... In case you missed this, the newly released US Topo maps
<http://nationalmap.gov/ustopo/index.html> for Maine now feature segments
of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail <http://www.nps.gov/appa/index.htm>
(A.T.). Several of the 715 new US Topo quadrangles for the state now
display parts of the A.T. along with other improved data layers. The last
revision to the maps was 2011.

US Topo is a product of *The National Map (TNM). *The goal of the National
Geospatial Program is to release new topos every three years to reflect
updates made to the databases that compose *TNM**. *For example, the Maine
Office of GIS, the Maine Dept of Environmental Protection and the Maine
Office of the New England Water Science Center are stewards of the National
Hydrography Database (NHD). Any changes made by the stewardship team to
improve the NHD will appear in the new products. In addition, NGP will
continue to add layers and improve the format and functionality of US Topo
over time.....Dan
