Hi everyone

As you probably know by now, The Maine GeoLibrary, MEGIS, USGS, and the
State Planning Office have been working hard to implement a new
statewide orthoimagery collection program. One that is recurring,
predictable, and inexpensive. We are pleased to see this moving forward
in year 1, with Cumberland and York County going first. Although York
County itself backed out due to political issues around the budget, many
of the towns are paying that extra piece and moving forward regardless.
We will begin collection in early to mid April, covering all of
Cumberland County and about 1/2 of York County. Many towns have bought
up to 6" or even 3" resolution.

Although overdue, we have finally put together a web site for the
program which is available at http://www.maine.gov/geolib, the Maine
GeoLibrary web site.

We are already thinking about next year and will be in touch with those
counties and towns in late March.
