Employers,

Please see the announcement of an internship program you are invited to
join. From what I understand, any employer can participate, as long as the
activity falls under the seven (7) broad MEIF fields listed below. Be sure
to follow the link below and read the program information before declining
consideration.

This newish program is a great oppportunity for you to access paid talent
from USM while giving a true work experience to a student.

Vinton

Application is now open through June 22nd for part-time fall 2016
internships.

USM Community Engagement and Career Development is excited to announce the
second round of our new Canis Major Internships program! The aim is to
match University of Southern Maine students to internships with area
businesses. Through a grant from the Maine Economic Improvement Fund
(MEIF), we are helping to fund internship positions for students to work
throughout Maine in the fields of Advanced Technologies for Forestry and
Agriculture, Aquaculture and Marine Sciences, Biotechnology, Composites and
Advanced Materials Technologies, Environmental Technologies, Information
Technologies, and Precision Manufacturing.

Students apply to the program now through June 22, will start their
positions in the fall of 2016, and if accepted will earn $14 an hour. This
is a great opportunity for students to explore career options, develop
professional contacts, and gain a multitude of workplace skills.

participating, please visit:
