COMMUNITY GIS; APPLICATIONS AND DATA NEEDS
Gretchen Heldmann, GISP, LF
Senior Project Manager

Gretchen currently works out of the Bangor area as Senior Project Manager for Corson GIS Solutions. She recently completed nearly ten years of municipal service working for the Town of Hampden as their GIS/IT Specialist. While in Hampden, Gretchen built many GIS data layers, relying on GeoLibrary Board products such as orthoimagery and LiDAR to create said layers. These data were used to manage required information for various town functions ranging from compliance with the town's stormwater permit, to assembling maps for economic development or emergency services purposes, to crosschecking information in the assessor's database. Gretchen also served on the GeoLibrary Board for six years, including a couple years as Chair. She has a BS in Forestry and a MS in Forest Resources from the University of Maine, is a Maine Licensed Forester, and is a GISCI Certified GIS Professional. Gretchen resides in Eddington and currently serves on the town Planning Board.

Aimee Mountain, GISP
Assistant Project Manager

Prior to joining GZA, Ms. Mountain was the GIS Coordinator for two municipalities in the State of Maine. Her recent work involved coordinating and developing goals and objectives for the use of GIS within a municipal infrastructure setting as well as developing procedures, formulating strategies, and implementing solutions to meet the Town's GIS and database interoperability goals. Other work included incorporating stormwater management requirements, such as infrastructure mapping and inventory into computer generated maps, reports, analyses, and data in a well-organized format and assisting others with the use of the information. Ms. Mountain was also responsible for training municipal staff and working with them to develop applications, standards, databases, formatting mechanisms, etc. for a broad spectrum of infrastructure and environmental applications. She served on the Maine GIS User Group (MEGUG) Board of Directors from 2007 to 2014 and the Maine Library of Geographic Information (Maine GeoLibrary) Board of Directors from 2008 to 2013. Because of this involvement, Ms. Mountain has been recognized as a leader in the Maine GIS community, specifically in her areas of expertise, Municipal Applications of GIS and Asset Management.
