Jay,
Are you saying that Pound is Un-Brakhage, purely, or simply because Stan
himself has a dislike for cartoons?

And I'm not sure what you mean by Stan not making it to Europe much, but
in France (just for an example) he has a similar celebrity (on a perhaps
smaller scale) to Woody Allen, Stanley Kubrick and Michael Snow. Of
course, this may be recent celebrity, as I believe you allude to it not
being prominent during Mr. Pound's life.

I'm almost certain that Pound never saw any Brakhage film. I'm pretty
sure
I asked Stan about that around 1977.
Brakhage himself didn't make it much to Europe, and his films played
only in
the most underground theatres.
Pound, very unBrakhage-like, had an appreciation for Disney.
The principal medium for any Pound/Brakhage connection would have been
Guy
Davenport. You might ask him. If it happened, he'd know.
