*UMA’s Convocation – Friday, October 1st*

On Friday, October 1st, UMA will celebrate a “calling together” to honor the
new academic year. This year’s Convocation theme is *Communications in the
21st Century* <http://www.uma.edu/2010convocation.html>. The event is 2:30 –
4:00PM in the Jewett Hall Auditorium. This year’s student speaker is
Rockland’s Mary Lynch! Good luck, Mary!

*Student Association Renews Farnsworth Passes*

The Rockland Student Association recognizes the value of student access to
the Farnsworth Art Museum. Student passes may be checked out at the URock
front desk for a 24 hour period. Passes allow you entrance to all galleries
and exhibits at the museum <http://www.farnsworthmuseum.org/>.

*To Be, Or Not To Be*

In December the Strand Theater in Rockland will host another live broadcast
from the National Theater of London. This year’s performance is
Hamlet<http://www.rocklandstrand.com/detail.html?id=694>on Thursday,
December 9, at 2:00 or 7:00PM. Some Rockland faculty will be
requiring attendance at one of the shows while others will be “urging”. If
you wish to attend the show but you are not connected with a University
class that will attend, please let the URock front desk know so we can get
you a ticket.

*Governor’s Forum at URock on October 5*

On Tuesday, October 5, URock will participate in a University of Maine
System Forum with the gubernatorial candidates via videoconference. Click
