*Welcome to fall!*

We are working to prepare the building for your return. Classes start on
Tuesday *9/3* for all campuses except for UMF and UMFK which start on
Wednesday, *9/4*. Click

full academic calendar. Registration for all campuses is still open
and ongoing. UMA does not offer student self-service course registration in
MaineStreet because payment (full payment, first payment on a payment plan,
financial aid or a third party) is required at the time of registration.

*Contact us or stop-in for assistance*

Center staff are available to assist this week with registration, payment
and advising. The center is open until 4 pm this week. Our hours on Friday *
8/30* are 11 am to 4 pm. We will be closed on Monday *9/2* in observance of
Labor Day.

*Please help us welcome our new staff members*

We had an enormous change at the center with the departure of two
long-time, veteran members of the staff, *Arlene Smith* and *Doreen Sandelin
*. We are particularly grateful for the work and extra effort of our summer
student office staff during this transition. A special thank you to *Libby
Poulin*, *Stephanie Whittingham*, *Donna Patrick*, *Joline Connolly-Allen*and
*Julie Carleton*. Newly hired over the summer are Administrative
Specialists, *Michelle

The Student Association plays a vital role in bringing students together
for educational, social and cultural events and building a strong sense of

The *Maine Centers for Women Work and Community* is offering a
no-cost*Introduction to Self-Employment workshop

Thursday,
*9/5* from 10 am to noon. This session will help you decide if
self-employment is the right choice for you. The class covers the pros and
cons of owning your own business, the steps needed for start-up, the major
elements of a business plan, and the many resources available to help you
