Hot off of the TechAlum mailing list, here's the updated schedule
for Michigan Tech's upcoming season. It's pretty much the same
as the preliminary one posted by Bob Gilreath a few weeks ago,
but includes a couple exhibition games that weren't listed in that
version.

Comments:

- I'm glad to see the Ferris / Lake Superior weekend early in the
season. Tech and Ferris had a good rivalry back in their CCHA days,
and there's always good hockey when U.P. teams play each other.

- The 3 week "break" between the Alaska trip and GLI worries me. The
team is going to need to keep a lot of focus to avoid a disaster in
Detroit. (No offense to Cornell fans -- but I wish we would have
drawn you in the first round instead of Michigan!)

- The last two weekends of the regular season are going to be tough;
a long trip out to this year's suprise team in the WCHA, finishing up
with the always-challenging trip to Madison.

Obviously, without Jamie Ram between the pipes, the key to Tech having
a decent season will be for the defense to mature -- VERY quickly. If
they don't, it's going to be a long season for Huskie fans.

Oh well, enough rambling... is it October yet??? :-)

P.S. For any Tech alumni out there, I've also included instructions
on how to subscribe to the TechAlum list.

P.P.S A *VERY* nice suprise tonight: I looked on the "grid" in TV
Guide, and saw "Ice Hockey: Women's World Championships" listed from
8-10pm on the Madison Square Garden channel. Needless to say, I almost
fell off my seat! Women's hockey on in *prime time*? Maybe there's
hope yet! (Does anyone know MSG's address so I can send them a thank-you
letter?)
