Dear Pound scholars:
 
You are probably familiar with the following Pound quote:
 
"The real meditation is... the meditation on one's identity. Ah, voil`
une chose!! You try it. You try finding out why you're you and not
somebody else. And who in the blazes are you anyhow? Ah, voil` une
chose!"
 
I want to use this quote in a chapter I've written on "Media and
Identity Development" (to be published by Sage in a new "Handbook on
Children and the Media").  I encountered the quote on the web, and I
just haven't been able to find a "standard" citation for it.  If you
know the reference for this quote, I'd be extremely grateful if you let
me know it.  I'm not on this list - please write me directly at
