City of Auburn, Maine 
GEOSPATIAL DATA MANAGER

The City of Auburn is seeking a Geospatial Data Manager. This position is responsible for managing all GIS operations within the City. Some of the major duties of this position are coordinating and managing City-wide aerial photography projects; planning, developing and maintaining the GIS within the City of Auburn; coordinating the use of GIS data and software with various City departments and area agencies; coordinating the purchase of GIS software and maintaining software licenses; planning and organizing GIS software training; updating and managing GIS data layers through relational database management and custom applications with the use of ArcGIS software suite (version 9.3 and above), ArcSDE and SQL server; managing web-based mapping services (.NET); and performing periodic parcel updates and tax map production. Preference will be given to candidates with application development skills. 
Duties will also include developing, maintaining and supporting other Access and SQL database projects.  

Applicants should have a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Geospatial Data Management Systems, cartography, geography, computer science, information systems, or other related fields; and 3-5 years of related progressive technical experience in developing and maintaining geographic information systems and/or computer-aided/automated cartography.
 
Salary range is dependent upon qualifications and experience. The City of Auburn has an excellent benefits package.
