.... bombs WERE dropped, having been disguised in order to kill more civilians.

The following story is true (unless my mother lied to us ! ) :

During the Christmas season late in the war, my mother and friends were playing
around on the street in front of her house...you can imagine the scene : cold, gray,
and drab wartime Germany --of course rationing was in effect and life was hardly
pleasant.
The air raid sirens began to wail , but the children on the streets didn't move ; the
sight astonished them : Russian planes were dropping "Christmas trees"--- a beautiful
sight to any child, but an especially beautiful one to a child in a drab war zone --
the trees dropped softly, shining brilliantly as the tinsel and brightly colored
decorations gave off a magical light--- many of my mother's friends stayed out on the
street to witness this "miracle".....My grandmother, however, dragged my mother and
aunts/uncles off of the street and into the shelter -- moments later the "trees"
exploded, killing innocent children....

aah......the "brave" Russian airmen and women !

So, some stories revealing these atrocities are true--- (shall we discuss Dresden ?)
