*Farewell to Dagmar Friday, August 2 at Noon*

Please join us for a fond farewell gathering for Dagmar on Friday, August 2
at noon.  We will share light snacks, well wishes and fond remembrances.
Dagmar is still taking advising appointments through this week.

*Welcome Chip Curry!*

The new Coordinator of Student Services is Chip Curry. Chip worked at Unity
College as an Academic Advisor and Coordinator of Student Activities. In
addition, he worked at the Muskie School of Public Service as the Project
Leader for statewide AmeriCorps/Vista volunteers. He has an MS in College
Student Personnel Services from Miami University. Please join us in
welcoming Chip to URock.

*Build Your Professional Network*

Want to bring your job search into the 21st Century? Attend a “*Getting
Connected in LinkedIn*” workshop on Wednesday, *8/7* from 1-2:30 pm. Learn
to use LinkedIn to strengthen your job search skills. Topics include
networking, maintaining a professional online presence, ways to find job
postings and more! To register for this session please email

*Upcoming Proctored Testing*

If you need to take an exam other than during its regularly scheduled time,
you will need to schedule your test through the URock front office. Our
normal hours are Tuesdays at 8AM or Thursdays at 4PM. A photo ID is
required and, in many cases, instructor permission. Sorry but Friday
testing is not available in the summer.

*Registration Continues for Fall Term*

Registration continues for fall 2013 classes. You can register without
payment through August 8! Dates for all the campuses are

*New Student Orientation*

New student orientations for entering fall students will be held at URock.
Students have the choice of Tuesday, August 27 at 10AM or Wednesday, August
28 at 5:00PM. Please preregister by calling URock at 596-6906. New students
will hear tips from a panel of experienced students, sign up for a library
and student ID card, review technologies, meet staff and make new friends.
Attendance is highly recommended!

*Fall Math Boot Camp*

Five Town CSD Adult Education will be returning to URock this fall for
another round of *Math Boot Camp*. This is a fast paced and excellent math
refresher designed for those of you who wish to score into 100-level math
on the Accuplacer Placement Test. You must be willing to do weekly homework
and to take quizzes. There is no charge for the course but you must pay a
book fee of $25. Math Boot Camp will run Fridays, 9AM – Noon from September
13 through December 20. Interested students should email Deb

*Please Pick Up Your Returned Spring Tests and Projects*

Faculty have returned final papers and projects to the URock office. Please
stop by and collect your graded work.

*Drop In Technology Support – Mondays Noon – 1:00PM*

Ask *any* of your technology questions at an informal drop in session in
the computer lab every Monday from noon to 1:00PM. No question is too small
or too big.  No need to register in advance.

*Enjoy Our Picnic Tables by the Shore!*

If the rain ever stops, we urge you to enjoy the view and cool breezes down
at the shore at the URock picnic tables. There is a cigarette butt disposer
by the tables. Please put all other trash in the dumpster.
