*Program Information Session: Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)*

An information session on the Medical Laboratory Technology Program from UMA
will be held on Wednesday, November 2 at 11:00AM in room #410. According to
MLT Program Co-Directors Linda Graves, Ed.D, MT (ASCP) and Margaret Nass, M
Ed., MT (ASCP), in the four months since graduation, 94 percent of this
years graduates of the Medical Laboratory Technology Program of Maine have
found jobs in the clinical laboratory field! They expect this trend to
continue because approximately 40 percent of the current laboratory
workforce is within 10 years of retirement. In June, the U.S. Department of
Labor Bureau of Labor and Statistics estimated that there will be almost
11,000 laboratory technologist/technician job openings annually through
2018. The vision of providing quality MLT education to communities across
Maine is a key part of maintaining a well-trained health care team to care
for the people of Maine. Preregistration is not necessary for this free info
