*Ribbons and More for Gavin*

URock students Josh and Nicole Wallace have a 5 year old son who is
seriously ill. “Ribbons for Gavin” are on sale for just $2 in the URock
office. In addition, there will be a benefit supper Saturday, April 30th
from 5:00 – 8:00PM at the VFW Hall in Waldoboro. All proceeds go to support
the Wallace family during this hard time. Click

*Dinner and Theater Monday, April 25th*

Members of Jon Potter’s “Play Production” class will perform one act plays
on Monday, April 25th starting at 7:15PM. A buffet dinner will be served at
7:00PM just prior to the plays. Walk the dinner line and then take a seat to
enjoy student performances. It’s all free and dinner is with compliments of
the URock Student Association.

*SA Voting Results are In!*

Electronic voting seems to have worked with greater student participation
than in any previous election. Congratulations to all those who have stepped
up to take leadership of the Student Association. The newly elected officers
are: Kristin Belyea and Marcus Carter (Co-Presidents); Nicole Wallace,
Vice-President; Joshua Wallace, Secretary; and, Sierra Meservey, Treasurer.

*3-D Art is Magnificent!*

Students in Brandon Lutterman’s 3-D art class put their art on display at
URock last Friday. It’s mounted, hung, flying, propped and remarkable!
Enjoy.

*Honors Program Reception – April 22*

On Friday, April 22nd from noon – 1:00PM, Professor Jon Schlenker will
provide an overview of UMA’s Honors Program to URock students. If you are
interested in joining with others who are academically motivated to provide
enrichment and community service at the Rockland Center then please come to

*Rockland Library Open Til Midnight May 3*

In order to support URock students during finals’ week, the Rockland Public
Library will be open until midnight on Tuesday, May 3. This is a great show
of community support and we hope it helps many of you!

*Commencement 2011!!*

We have posted information about Commencement

information on the local URock graduation celebration on May 7th
at 4:00PM as well as the protocol for caps and gowns for the  ceremony at
the Civic Center. *Please RSVP* *for the URock event* on May 7th so we can
plan our fancy hors d’oeuvres. Also, send digital photos to Dawn Rinehart

Our guest speaker at the URock celebration will be Meredith Hall, NY Times
bestselling author of *Without a Map* <http://meredithhall.org/>. Copies of
her book are available for lending through the URock front office. It’s a
powerful read!

*Internship Panel April 29*

The student panel on the in’s and out’s of internships has been rescheduled
to Friday, April 29th at noon at URock. Learn how to apply, what it means to
have an internship and some of the ways to maximize the experience from
current URock students who are enrolled in internships.

*Creative Writings Published at URock!*

The students in Jon Potters Creative Writing class have published a
selection of short stories called, *Complex Actions*. Some copies are
available at the front office and in the student lounge. Great work and
terrific to see it in book form!

*Summer and Fall Registration Open for All Campuses*

online as we will not print a lot of course guides (budget savings!). This
is a good time to schedule an advising appointment before classes fill. For
summer registration you must either make a payment or have financial aid
posted and confirmed by staff. Fall registration *is* available through
self-service. (See notes on financial aid below as to how to get your summer
aid posted.)

*URock Apparel*

Now you can order URock apparel

the clothes (T-shirts, sweats, etc.) will be hand
delivered to you at URock.

*Financial Aid Update*

If you applied for financial aid through the University of Maine at Augusta,
your financial aid award for fall and spring is now posted in Maine
Street<https://peportal.maine.edu/psp/PAPRD89/EMPLOYEE/EMPL/h/?tab=PAPP_GUEST>.
You may view and accept your aid package now. Please note that your aid has
been awarded based on full time enrollment (4 courses or 12 credits). If you
plan to attend half or three quarters time you may change your attendance
under the student enrollment hyperlink. If you plan to attend in the summer,
indicate your summer plans under student enrollment and then continue to
monitor Maine Street for your summer aid posting.

discuss opportunities.

If you have not yet completed your FAFSA for the next academic year, it is
not too late. Please go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov to file.
