*Academic Advising and Student Support*

Chip is available along with URock Director, Deborah

for advising and registration, tutoring requests, special learning
accommodations and other services to support your student success.
Appointments can be made by calling the URock front office.

*Buy Your Fall Textbooks*

Most books for URock courses are available through the UMA
Bookstore<http://www.umabookstore.com/>website. Students can order by
phone or online.
*If you order your textbooks through the UMA bookstore by August 23*, *they
will be delivered to URock by August 29 and you only pay $2 in shipping
charges!*

*End of Summer Proctored Test Times*

If you need to take a summer session exam other than during its regular
class time, you will need to schedule your test through the URock front
office. Our testing hours over the next few weeks will be Tuesday, Aug 20 &
27 at 8AM, or Thursdays, Aug 22 at 4:00 and Thurs., Aug 29 at 1:00PM. A
photo ID is required and, in many cases, instructor permission.

*Watch for Student Activities This Fall*

The URock SA has been planning ahead for fall activities. Decisions have
been made to sponsor student tickets to the Strand’s HD National Theater of
London performance of
Othello<http://www.rocklandstrand.com/event/nt-live-othello>on
September 26 as well as to sponsor URock student tickets to the Common
Ground Fair on Saturday, September 21. Stay tuned for more details, or

*Registration Continues for Fall Term*

Registration continues for fall 2013 classes but now either payment or
proof of financial aid is due. Use the Distance Learning Class

*New Student Orientation*

New student orientations for entering fall students will be held at URock.
Students have the choice of Tuesday, August 27 at 9:30AM or Wednesday,
August 28 at 4:30PM. Please preregister by calling URock at 596-6906. New
students will hear tips from a panel of experienced students, sign up for a
library and student ID card, review technologies, meet staff and make new
friends. Attendance is highly recommended! As one new student said last
fall, “This was a great use of my time to get a lot of good information
very quickly.”

*Fall Math Boot Camp*

Five Town CSD Adult Education will be returning to URock this fall for
another round of *Math Boot Camp*. This is a fast paced and excellent math
refresher designed for those of you who wish to score into 100-level math
on the Accuplacer Placement Test. You must be willing to do weekly homework
and to take quizzes. There is no charge for the course but you must pay a
book fee of $25. Math Boot Camp will run Fridays, 9AM – Noon from September
13 through December 20. Interested students should email Deb

*Special URock Hours the Week of August 26*

During the semester break the week of August 26, URock will be open at the
following times: Monday – Thursday 8AM – 5:30PM and Friday, 8AM to 4:00PM.
Please note that URock staff will be at UMA on the morning of Friday,
August 30 until 11AM. The office and the campus will be open but there will
be limited services before 11AM.

*Enjoy Our Picnic Tables by the Shore!*

If the rain ever stops, we urge you to enjoy the view and cool breezes down
at the shore at the URock picnic tables. There is a cigarette butt disposer
by the tables. Please put all other trash in the dumpster.

*File Your FAFSA!*

There is still time to file your 2013 – 2014
FAFSA<http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/>and receive aid for fall 2013 and
spring 2014. For help, visit with our

*URock Sweats and Tees*

We have just received a shipment of new URock sweatshirts, sweatpants,
T-shirts, long sleeved shirts and more. There’s lots of new colors and
