Good day!

* Please remember that URock is closed on Monday, October 13, for Columbus Day. No office hours and no classes.

* It's time to sign up for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® Workshop! This is a fun and enlightening personal and career development activity. Susan Barnard from the Maine Career Center will hold a workshop on Monday, November 17, from 1:00 - 4:00PM to review the results of your questionnaire. When we think about successful and satisfying careers we need to understand ourselves first. We also need to know how we can perform best at the workplace. One of the key factors in career development is job satisfaction. Job satisfaction is high when the job engages the strongest personal qualities of an individual. The MBTI is a great tool to help you make some important career and job decisions. Please sign up for the workshop at the front desk. When you sign on, you will be given the MBTI questionnaire to complete. There are no wrong answers! Rather, it is an indicator of your preferences. Return the questionnaire to URock by Monday, November 12th and then enjoy learning all about your personality at the workshop on the 19th.

* Spring course preregistration will begin November 10th (degree students) and November 14th (non-degree).

* Students of HUM 389, Science Technology and Ethics, taught by Bob Baker will present the film, "Why We Fight", an award winning documentary that explores a half century of why the United States has gone to war, from World War II to the Iraq War, and the responses of ordinary people to the nation's call to combat.
The film, which first appeared at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, provokes interesting questions about whether America's foreign policy is dominated by the idea of military supremacy. This UROCK Film & Discussion Night will be held on Friday, October 17, at 7 PM and is open to the public.

Have a good week!
