The Houlton Higher Education Center will be CLOSED on Monday, October
11th to celebrate COLUMBUS DAY. This U.S. holiday commemorates the
landing of Christopher Columbus in the New World on October 12, 1492. It
was unofficially celebrated in a number of cities and states as early as
the 18th century but did not become a federal holiday until the 1937.

 

FALL BREAK: begins with Columbus Day Oct 11th. Campus break schedule for
University of Maine System students at HHEC are as follows:

UM-Augusta: Oct 11 & Oct 12 only;

UM-Presque Isle: Oct 11 - Oct 17, classes resume Oct 18;



USM-Portland: Oct 11 - Oct 12, classes resume Oct 13;

 

UM-Machias:  Oct 11 only....
USM-Portland: Oct 11 - Oct 12, classes resume Oct 13;

UM-Machias: Oct 11 only.
