The semester is flying by and I want to make you aware of the following:

· Registration for degree students begins at most University System
campuses by November 8th.

· Check-out this onsite course being offer at the center for the
first time. ART 109 Photographic Vision and Digital Discovery: Utilizing the
digital camera and related computer imaging software, students will learn
the basics of photographic technique and explore how to visualize the
3-dimensional world as a 2-dimensional photographic image. (Designed for
non-art majors.)

· For a complete onsite course list go to:
http://learn.maine.edu/ellsworth/files/2010/07/Spring-2011-UMA-Onsite-Course-List.pdf

· On Wednesday November 17th we are hosting a Veterans Resource Fair
and the Mobile Vet Center Van. Active military personnel, veterans and
their family members are welcome to visit the Van to explore local college
options, and meet with Lenny Richards, Readjustment Counseling Technician
from the Department of Veterans Affairs who can assist veterans with their
concerns. Tell your family, friends and neighbors. LOOK FOR THE VET VAN IN
THE PARKING LOT!

· The Center will be closed on Thursday November 11th in observance
of Veteran’s Day.

· Deployed Maine National Guard soldiers are in need of a few items
that will make deployed life much easier. These simple and inexpensive
items are in short supply and are considered luxuries in a deployed
environment. Deployed soldiers need the following items:
- Foot Powder
- Wet Ones (moist wipes)
- Toilet paper (the 'good stuff')
- Travel games
- Snacks (candy/jerky/gum)
- Unscented Lotion
 -Eye Drops
- Hot Sauce. And/or Mrs. Dash

If you would like to donate any of these items, a drop box is located in the
Center lobby.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO REGISTER EARLY – YOU CAN USE SELF-SERVICE ON MAINESTREET.
