This listserv is designed to provide periodic news updates to the University College at Bath/Brunswick community.

In March, I shared an announcement about a new scholarship. Several students contacted me to indicate that the scholarship application process had concluded by the time they made contact.
The application process for the Competitive Skills Scholarship is reopening by phone through the Bath CareerCenter, 442-0300, beginnning at 8 am on Tuesday, July 1.
There is a limited pool of funds so if you are interested it is imperative to call the CareerCenter first thing Tuesday morning. The Scholarship details are listed below:
The Competitive Skills Scholarship is for post-secondary education for jobs that the Maine Department of Labor has identified as being high wage occupations (above the state average of $13.76/hour) that are in demand in Maine.
The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance and support services to qualified full or part-time students in Associate or Bachelors degree programs. The program is likely to cover degree programs like Mental Health, Business Administration, Nursing and other health science careers, and many other career related degrees. It does not cover graduate study.
You may qualify if you:Live in Maine
Are at least 18 years of age
Are legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Are applying for education for a job in a high wage, high growth occupation
Have an income of less than 200% of the federal poverty level for family size
