UMA’s A*ugusta campus is closing at 4 pm on

*. At the Bath Center, ITV and videoconference courses that *originate
from*Augusta (HTY 103, HUS 330, HUS 460, SCI 120, & MAT 280) will not
meet on the
evening of the 19th. *All other courses will meet as scheduled.*

Thinking about pursuing an advanced degree? Not sure where to start? This
Thursday, *10/21*, 2:30- 3:30 pm workshop can assist you in your preparation
for graduate school. Topics include graduate examinations, choosing the

Please donate family literacy materials to support the Brunswick Head
Start’s new family literacy room. See the drop box in the lobby for details.

On Monday, *11/1*, from 1 to 2:30 pm, *Nancy Cooley*, UMA Academic
Coordinator for Nursing, and *Brenda Webster*, USM Coordinator of Nursing
Student Services, will discuss options for entering the nursing profession.
Information about associate, bachelor, and master level options and

Coordinator for Mental Health & Human Services, will help current and
prospective students understand the various points of entry to careers based
on degree level. Certificate and licensing issues will also be addressed.

Do you want help deciding on a major and/or planning for a new career?
Women, Work & Community is offering a free 5-session Career Planning
workshop Wednesdays, *11/3 through 12/1* from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at
University College in Bath. This workshop is designed to help you review
your skills and interests, identify career options, and develop a plan for

*Make the most of your Liberal Studies degree*

On Thursday, *11/4*, 1 to 2:30 pm, *Sheri Fraser*, UMA Director of Academic
& Career Advising, will outline the various ways students can utilize this
degree, including elementary education, special education, and various

*Build your resume doing good*

Volunteers are needed as IRS Certified Tax Preparers or Asset Coaches.
Midcoast Maine Ca$h Coalition provides free IRS-certified training, you get
a marketable skill and the priceless satisfaction of helping those in your
community. All it takes is 3 hours a week, for at least 4 weeks during tax
