At approximately 1:00p this afternoon there was a network outage of several
minutes that impacted many of our users.  The specific details of the root
cause are still under investigation, however the effect was that the
connection between Orono and Portland was briefly severed causing a partial
Internet outage for several minutes while traffic was re-routed.



At this time all affected services have been fully restored, and no
lingering effects from this episode are expected.  Additional details will
be provided when available.
