Maine Sea Grant invites proposals for collaborative research on the
nearshore scallop fishery. Projects should contribute knowledge to the
continued improvements in management of the scallop fishery in Maine state
waters. The Broad Reach Fund is making available $20,000 to fund a series
of small research projects that address questions relevant to, or generated
by, the fishing industry, and that emphasize cooperation between fishermen
and scientists. We anticipate supporting proposals requesting funds between
$2,000 and $10,000. Proposals will be reviewed for scientific merit and
relevance by representatives of the scallop fishery and staff from Maine
Sea Grant, Maine Department of Marine Resources, and Penobscot East
Resource Center.

Proposals are due to the Maine Sea Grant Office by *4:30 p.m. on June 16,
2014.*
