FYI- There's a new toolkit at https://veterans.libguides.com/home/toolkit from the Libraries & Veterans National Forum. This IMLS grant-sponsored project helps libraries share great programming ideas to meet the needs of veterans (and their families) in our communities. The toolkit is a searchable database where you can look at the ready-to-go programs and submit one of your own.

Other places to get ideas for veterans:
https://programminglibrarian.org/programs/female-veterans-art-therapy-program
https://calibrariesforveterans.org/librarians/programming.html
https://libguides.ctstatelibrary.org/dld/veterans

The developers of the toolkit, Sarah LeMire & Dawn LaValle, also just published a book, Serving Those Who Served . They will be at ALA.
