Hello MEEOA membership,
I hope this message finds you well!

We had our most recent board meeting yesterday, where we agreed that it is
time to grow our board! We are hoping to start 2 new committees, meaning we
are looking for multiple volunteers (no experience necessary).

1) *Finance Committee*: These folks would work in tandem with the
treasurer. They would also review our fiscal policy and make suggestions
for updates/changes to the board. An example of this is that we recently
updated our mileage reimbursement for MEEOA related activities, because
costs of fuel have gone up. We changed it to reflect the federal
reimbursement rate. Pretty simple, right?!!

2) *Professional Development*: MEEOA is a professional development and
advocacy agency. We are hoping to find more ways to offer professional
development to the membership. This committee would also oversee the
professional development scholarships MEEOA offers, reviewing applications
and awarding funds as necessary.

Committee members would not have to attend monthly board meetings, but
instead submit reports to the board or send one representative to each
board meeting. The time commitment would be relatively low! We see this as
a "foot in the door" type of position.
