Bowdoin College's Education Department will commemorate the 50-year anniversary of Upward Bound with a lecture on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m.   Dr. Laura Perna, founding director of the Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy will give a talk titled "Increasing Higher Education of All Students: The Need for a Comprehensive Approach".

Dr. Perna recently co-authored the Indicators of Higher Education Equity in the US-a 45 Year Trend Report and has been a vocal proponent of federal and state investment in higher education and TRIO college access programs.
