NEOA 2024 Annual Conference Request for Proposals

New England Educational Opportunity Association

Burlington, Vermont, April 10-12, 2024

Invitation

NEOA invites session proposals for its annual conference. The mission of
NEOA is to advocate for access to and success in postsecondary education
for low income individuals, first generation college students, and college
students with disabilities and to develop the skills and knowledge of
educational opportunity professionals working with this population. We are
composed of several programs including Student Support Services, Talent
Search, Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math/Science, Veterans Upward Bound,
Educational Opportunity Centers, McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement
Program, and Gear UP. Please consider sharing your ideas and expertise with
educational opportunity professionals by submitting a proposal that closely
aligns with this year’s theme.

Theme

The annual New England Educational Opportunity Programs is excited to have
its annual conference on April 10-12 at the Double Tree Hotel in
Burlington, VT. This conference will focus on Empowering Learners. The
conference will focus on providing opportunities for our professionals to
fill their toolboxes with tools to empower students of all ages to be the
best they can be. This would encompass tools to support students being
ready to learn, self-advocacy, and using their resources to support
learning and mental well-being.

Submitting a Proposal

1. Consider your topic, its significance, and what you want your audience
to take away from your session.

2. Consider your session format, target audience, and technology needs.

3. Complete the Workshop Proposal Form <https://forms.gle/cARKdGKKbtynm1eR9> by
Friday, February 2, 2024.

If you would like to run an idea by me before writing the proposal, I can
let you know if we already have something similar planned for the
conference. I'm here to answer any questions you have.

Warm regards,
*Monique*
