I received your message about the TRIO SSS competition. Sharing with you
information that I am also sending to the other TRIO administrators in
Maine as well. I have been in very close touch with the Department of
Education, and they are telling me that the announcements will be coming
any day now. Unfortunately we have no control over ED’s announcement, but I
contacted them again today and urged them to finalize these decisions. I do
think we could hear some news this week, but as you know from going through
this process before, since there are so many applicants, there is usually a
little delay between when one state hears news and when it reaches another.
Just keep that in mind because I know the TRIO network shares information
quickly. Rest assured, though, I have personally weighed in with ED and
they know that we are expecting news. We will alert you of any decisions
the moment they come!
