Greetings MEEOA!

TRIO Student Support Services at Central Maine Community College is accepting applications for new fall participants. If you have any students attending CMCC, we strongly encourage them to apply to our program. Our application is online at this link<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcmconnect.cmcc.edu%2FICS%2FStudents%2FTRiO.jnz%3Fportlet%3DJ1_FormFlow_-_Forms%26screen%3DFormView%26screenType%3Dchange%26form%3D983395f4-7987-4321-bf45-04d4d2e35ec4&data=02%7C01%7Cayork%40cmcc.edu%7C7eb7d9cf89764664f72a08d8010abe56%7Cb30231ebaf4041c9adae2700b5b41bb9%7C0%7C0%7C637260492952763438&sdata=LzkOPmXgNlT6mVnJ1NNqXZDareiVmoQBWf1BmMZ2unU%3D&reserved=0>. Questions can be directed to our TRIO email at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, or via phone to Amanda York, Transfer Advisor (207-755-5206), Donna Alexander, Retention Advisor and Tutor Coordinator (207-755-5209), or Terry Charlton, Director (207-755-5238).

We are also offering summer bridge programs for math and English. Students who are placed in CMCC's MAT 050 or ENG 090 developmental classes are eligible to attend these programs to test into college level courses for the fall. The programs include a free Accuplacer exam on the last day of the program. The flyer for these two summer success programs is attached.

Additionally, we are running a World Climate Simulation for TRIO eligible students entering CMCC as STEM majors. We are also including General Studies and Liberal Studies students should they choose to be interested. This simulation offers a leadership experience for students to represent a country at a mock United Nations meeting and negotiate a solution to climate change. This flyer is also attached.

All three of these programs will be offered remotely due to COVID-19. It could be a great experience for students to get familiar with online classes before beginning college. For more information on summer programming, please contact Amanda York ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

Thank you for your dedicated commitment to supporting students, especially during these unprecedented times. If you'd like to connect to share ideas and resources relating to virtual environments or supporting students in a remote environment, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,

CMCC TRIO SSS
