I contacted the radio PBP voice of the Bulldogs, Bruce Ciskie, to measure
interest in a UMD-Maine series.  He was very much in favor of it and knows
Coach Sandelin is looking for a good road trip.  Several UMD fans chimed in
to say they would love to see the Black Bears out there and would welcome a
chance to come to Maine.  I posted on the Facebook group to see if there
was interest and got positive feedback.  Nonni even reminded me that UMD is
Grant Standbrook's alma mater.  While Grant isn't officially part of the
coaching staff, he will always be a Black Bear.

With this information, I contacted Red and told him what I had learned.  He
wrote back and let me know he would be contacting Coach Sandelin this week.
 If the stars align correctly a scheduling agreement might be worked out
for the 14-15 and 15-15 seasons.  You may recall Maine and Duluth have
played in recent tournaments, including the 2012 NCAA showdown between
Abbott and Connolly.  However, Maine has not been to Duluth since 1989 and
they have not been here since 1988.
