Regardless of what is circulating on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or this list, he should be shaking in his boots. There is a graph on the Facebook page showing the program's winning percentage from 1981 until the present. Since Shawn's last recruited class in 2006, the program has gone from a sub 700 winning percentage to a sub 500 winning percentage. The only people who continually under achieve, yet get to keep their job AND get a raise every year are meteorologists!
While I can agree things have gotten more expensive and season tickets are a luxury that end up on the chopping block when times get tough, why haven't ticket sales of people who ordinarily wouldn't get tickets not gone up? It wasn't too long ago that you couldn't get a ticket for UNH/BC/BU, now you can walk up 5 minutes before the game and get one.

None of this discussion seems all that productive to me. It's sad
that this discussion group's energy has degraded to this petty
bull-crap. I haven't seen anything yet that leads me to think
that any of the efforts here are going to amount to anything. This
all sounds like a lot of whining to me. Has anyone here had any
contact at all with anyone who might actually have decision making
authority?
On a positive note though, maybe it will become no longer
economically feasible to continue to sell out almost the entire
arena to season ticket holders. And then it will become possible
for people interested in hockey for more that winning and loosing
to be able get tickets for a few games a year. Some of us live
just too far away for a season ticket purchase to be worth it.
And some of us can't afford them anyway. It has always seemed to
me that there should always be a reasonable amount of single game
tickets available to the public, especially since this is a
publicly funded university. Just satin.

Remember when BU coming to town was the highlight of the season, the hated Terriers and Darth Parker. Now its just another game to lose. No traffic about the game on Maine Hockey list, no traffic on USCHO about the game, who cares. I think Nonni has it right, the cost of the game, the travel to Alfond, the eating out before or after just isn't worth it.
