Cornell is beaten up at this point.. Barely skating 3 lines, trying to limp to the playoffs.

SLU did not really look like a last place team with such an awful record when they played Cornell last weekend.   They seem to have good team speed and they played hard all night.  The roster is very young with perhaps a majority of the team freshmen and sophomores.  Maybe they will score more as they get older but the scoring defense is last in the nation at 4.04 per game  with goal tending that is not abominable.   Coaches should be able to teach defense but offense is perhaps more raw talent and less often improved by coaching input.

Looking at their scoring offense and defense Cornell's 3 - 1 win seems to be their prototypical game.
