"Pios" has been around for a while. A three-sylable word like "pioneers" seems to be a stretch for the announcers. Somewhat overdone for this game. From the DU perspective, I thought the announcers were attempting to be fair but tilted a bit toward BU. I don't like the inference that the referees should even up the number of penalties called on both sides. If they "did" it, call it. If not, don't even it up to make the numbers look good on the score sheet. I thought the boarding call that went for 2 minutes was pretty much why the 5-minute major was established. Pretty dangerous. Great game in any case. Both goalies stood on their heads.

I stand corrected. Nevermind. 😳

I realize I don’t get out much any more, but is it standard practice to refer to the Denver Pioneers as the “Pio’s”? Or is it just these idiot announcers? I thought it would be an improvement to be rid of Barry Melrose. Be careful what you wish for!!!!
