With the conference post-season tournaments over and the NCAA tournament
almost upon us, it's time to announce the winners of the Pick the Post-Season
Tournament contests. For Contest #2, in which all rounds are scored the
same, the overall winner is...

      Tony Buffa

whose total of 72 points was four better than runners-up Andy Weise
and Sean Keller.
Congratulations, Tony!

As for the individual conference winners...

A hard-fought ECAC race saw a six-way tie among William Sangrey, Andy
Weise, Jim
Dixon, Sean Keller, Tony Buffa, and William Krebs, with 12 points each. The
championship-game score tiebreaker went to William Sangrey.

Hockey East also came down to a tiebreaker, with Andy Weise, Sean
Keller, William
Sangrey, and myself tied with 18 points. Andy Weise won the
tiebreaker and the top
spot.

The CCHA was won by me with 14 points.

Tony Buffa took the honors in the NCHC with 12 points.

Atlantic Hockey went to Andy Weise with 18 points.

The Big Ten ended in a five-way tie among Tony Buffa, Andy Weise, Jim
Dixon, Mark
Lewin, and Steve Roth, with 8 points each. Tony's perfect
championship-game score
prediction gave him the edge.

Complete scoring results are below. Congratulations to all the winners, and
thanks again to all those who participated.

Tiebreaker notes: The first tiebreaker was the difference between your
predicted championship-game score and the actual score. Thus, if you picked
the score of the ECAC championship game (actually 3-1) to be 5-1, you would
get two points; if you picked 5-2, you would get three points; and if you
picked 6-3, you would get five points. Obviously, the lower the point score
the better.

The second tiebreaker was the difference between your predicted total of
goals scored in the entire tournament and the actual number. Again, the
lower the point total the better.

As far as tiebreakers that were actually needed:

For the ECAC, the championship game score was 3-1.

For Hockey East, the championship game score was 6-2.

For the Big Ten, the championship game score was 5-4.

Also included below are the "Higher Seed" picks showing what would have
happened if the higher seed for each game had been picked to win.
