Though I don't recall his commenting on Agassiz's role as the last great
opponent of Darwin, Pound was especially praising of the way Agassiz taught:
the exhortation to his students to look at a fish, and describe clearly what
you see, just what you see, not what you think, is held as an example of good
methodology (his fish story shows up in a couple of places I believe, one of
which is ABC of Reading)
