Dear Friends,

Rome's equivalent to Lincoln Center, Renzo Piano's "Parco della Musica", 
will present a concert of Ezra Pound's music on the evening of Saturday, 
May 8, 2010.  This is a project of the American Academy in Rome and the 
Fondazione Musica per Roma. We will be supervising the music and giving 
a brief introduction.

The program will  present the first European performance of Pound's solo 
violin piece based upon his "Sestina:  Alteforte", the first Italian 
performance of the complete Paris1926 version of "Le Testament" and the 
world premiere of two arias from his unfinished third opera "Collis O 
Heliconii"; the title aria upon the text of Catullus and the 
"Poikilothron" on the text of Sappho. The concert will also include and 
aria from Pound's opera "Cavalcanti".
