Try this:
save the screen movie; then, drag it into iMovie. Edit as needed. 
Export as a mobile movie by going to share and choose that format size.
The exported version will be smaller than the original screen movie, but you'll have to see if it's small enough for what you want.

Are you posting to Moodle? They'll take up to 2MB.
