My biggest problem with Mr. Noeth, along with the situation-based
interpretation of penalties that has been discussed here already, relates
to his pre-game activities. At the championship game, he spent his pre-game
skate jousting and clowning around with the UAA Seawolf Mascot. I hate to
sound like a killjoy, but I thought that his goofing around showed a lack
of respect for the game and the importance of his position. Imagine an NHL
ref dancing with a Dallas Cowboys' Cheerleader before the SuperBowl (if the
'Boys ever get back there!).
 
I saw that Steve Piatrowski of the CCHA was there. I wish they'd used him
instead.
