i was there a few months ago.  we took the following route from granada hills:
405 south to 22 east
22 east to 5 north
5 north to katella ave east
from here, you can follow the signs to the pond.
 
from the following map, it appears as though taking 57 north from 22 east to
katella ave instead of the 5 will work, as well:
