'81.  The Gophers had a powerhouse team, led by All-Americans Neal
Broten and Steve Ulseth and should-have-been-All-American Aaron Broten.
They breezed through the playoffs but laid an enormous egg in the final,
losing 6-3 to Bob Johnson's "Back Door Badgers."  It still hurts to
think about that one.  Uff da.
 
This was back in the days of small-arena Phinal Phours.  Capacity of the
DECC is 5,400.
