According to comments made by the CCHA commissioner, it sounds like it's
certain that UNO would be voted in during the August CCHA meetings, if the
application has been made. Then again, the WCHA made the same kind of
overtures before Mich. Tech decided to stick around. Just hafta wait and
see...

And I don't think it would have been a problem if the WCHA hadn't made
overtures and innuendos to UNO about "bending" some rules and getting them
in early, based on the success of the program so early on. Once Tech
decided they were staying put, the WCHA's attitude changed significantly,
to the point where it seemed for awhile that not even Mankato State was
going to get in. That's when UNO began exploring other options and the
whole CCHA thing came about. Why should UNO twiddle it's thumbs waiting
on the WCHA to decide what it's doing?

Honestly, I have no preference as to which conference UNO joins. I'd just
like to see these kids playing for "something" sooner rather than later.

Go Mavs!
