20 years from now, who will be remembered as the best
team in the country? Michigan or UND?

Hint: Who was the best team in the country 20 years ago,
Clarkson or Wisconsin? What about 16 years ago, same
two schools?

Unless you're an alumnus of the school, the only school
people will remember is the one listed in the NCAA records
as champion.

As much as I am proud of Clarkson's #1 ranking those two
years, they did not get it done when they had to, hence,
they WERE NOT and COULD NOT be the best team. The
best team was in 1977 and 81 -- Wisconsin.

Who was the best team in baseball last year? Cleveland,
Atlanta or the Yankees. History remembers the winner.

The fact reamins that Michigan did not win. They will go into
the history books, along with Kansas in roundball, and a
number of other teams throughout the ages, as a good
(great) team that failed in their quest for the prize.

Putting on the asbestos

Joe
