The Maine Senate is reportedly drafting a bill in support of Shawn. Is this
equally as heinous?

Yes, Art Mayo is a member of the FMH. As we are in the process of revamping
the Friend's constitution and bylaws, there are some jokes going around along
the vein of "How do you kick someone out"? As president of the FMH, I hope
these stay as jokes, as there is room for all sorts of opinion in our group,
even those I disagree with!!

Our efforts should be to discuss this with Mr. Mayo and try to (perhaps)
educate him about this entire process and he may change his mind. He shows a
lot of love and loyalty for Maine Athletics, however we may question his
judgments, and Maine Athletics needs it's fans.

It is my stand that we should forgive and move on. The administration made a
difficult and courageous choice a year ago. Coach Walsh paid a high price
for any wrongdoing. How do you live without the air you breathe for a year?
How do you get up and go in the mornings when the main focus of your life is
out of reach?

As for myself, I am tired of having this issue coughed up like last year's
hairball. Yes, it was a hard lesson learned, but anyone who listens at
UMaine knows that past problems have been corrected. We now have in place a
comprehensive system of checks and balances to support our student athletes
and attention should remove back to them. Let's start now. Glory is
fleeting, but obscurity is forever...........
