I leave it to someone who saw the game, rather than heard it on radio, to
describe the insanity of the last minute. Suffice to say that the
progression of events was:

1. With the score tied and the announcer calling "one minute to play,"
Vinnie Auger is pulled down on a Cornell breakaway, with no penalty called.
2. With Auger still out of the play, Yale takes the puck back on a 3-2
break and scores the winning goal at the 19 minute mark.
3. Matt Cooney then runs a Yale player during their goal celebration and
gets a unilateral major penalty.
4. Mike Schafer calls timeout, then replaces goalie Pelletier with Elliott
to gain more time.
5. Cornell is called for icing, even though they are down a man, setting up
a center ice ("oops") faceoff.
6. On this stoppage, at 19:12, Schafer challenges a Yale player's stick and
it is found to be illegal, giving Yale a penalty, and making the sides even
at 4.
7. The next time Cornell controls, Elliott is pulled, and Cornell sets up a
flurry in front of the Yale goal with the extra man, but comes up short.
8. On the next stoppage, more roughing, and coincidentals for same to
Bergin and McCullough.
9. Yale rags the rest of the time off the clock to earn the upset win.

Like I said, I leave it to an eyewitness to describe what they saw, rather
than heard.

Yuck.
