Didn't I just finish reading how the ECAC playoffs outdrew the Hockey East
playoffs? Not that the selections are made on a purely attendance basis,
but if that had anything to do with it, Hockey East teams surely didn't
help their cause with a poorer attendance. Especially considering that 3
of the four teams in the Hockey East Tournament were within an hours drive
of Boston. If the students are unwilling to hop on a bus and be in Boston
in an hour, what makes you believe that they will be more likely to hop on
a bus to be in Albany in three hours?

This has seemed to be a rather large e-mail thread and I haven't had time
to read it all, but no matter how much everyone might say that attendance
and $$$ has nothing to do with it, I don't buy it (no pun intended). This
had to have entered into the thought process.

All that said, it does seem unfair that Hockey East doesn't have at least
two teams staying east. If there is concern about interdivisional rivals
playing again, why have three ECAC teams in the same regional?
