One final note from me on the Princeton-Merrimack, Ottawa Tournament shootout:

Mike mentioned how he thought Merrimack's shootout experience may be
beneficial in that case.
I think it may have hurt them.

During that shootout, Princeton was in a fit of hilarity, while Merrimack
was serious, as I'm sure they should be during a Hockey East game. But
everyone from the Princeton coaches on down was just rolling in laughter at
the proceedings.
You must remember, that while it certainly was the first Princeton
shootout ever (as far as I know), they do it almost every day in practice.
Don Cahoon picked his five best practice shootout performers.
And since they were treating it like a relative practice at that point,
the pressure of the moment was never a consideration and therefore
Merrimack's experience in it was never a factor.

I enjoyed the way Princeton went about it. Sure they wanted to win it,
it's always nice to bring home some hardware. But the NCAA says it's a tie,
and Don Cahoon wasn't going to let his weekend be ruined by something that
doesn't resemble what hockey is about.
