I am not certain that we need yet another poll. But I did observe
interesting: of the top ten teams listed, only 3 played teams with
combined wiinning records. Thus another example of the truisms with
regards to polls:

"Play teams that lose and you too can be number 1."

I am not suggesting that Michigan and Maine are not good teams; however,
when their oppponents combined win-loss percentages are less than 50%
I believe there is room to question the validity of the polls.

Given what I observe from the list, I would suggest that Boston U and
RPI deserve much higher rankings than currently accorded. NHamp is clearly
over rated and I have reservations about Michigan. I have seen Michigan
play and I agree that they are good although their opponents (Uminn and
OSU) are both having off years.

I once had a coach tell me, "Don't believe what you see from a win against
a poor team: your not that good. And further more don't believe what you
see from a lopsided loss: your not that bad." Michigan and Maine have
outclassed most of their opponents; but how good are they? At least Mich
and Maine are not beating themselves. On the the other hand Boston U and
RPI have played respectable opponents and are winning. One might give some
consideration to Wisconsin as well.
