NMU played a first period that could out play anyone in the country!
They looked just outstanding and had total control of the puck. CC only
had one shot on goal until one minute left in the 1st period. It looked
as if CC was in for a long night at Lakeview Areana.

The second period slowed down on the ice. NMU seemed to sit back and
have lost its desire to make this game a blow-out. CC hung in there but
just couldn't get all of the cylinders to fire.

The third period showed me why CC is (at least until this evening I
hope) the number one team in the WCHA. They never gave up and came at
NMU in waves. An impressive comeback by CC gave the crowd something to
get back into the game.

Game two this evening for 1st place in the WCHA. It is really weird to
see CC on the top and Minnesota toward the bottom. Not many WCHA fans
would of thought this would be happening.
