From today's (10/11/94) _Boston Globe_:

Maine's leading scorer Latendresse ruled ineligible

The University of Maine's leading hockey scorer last year was informed
yesterday he can't play his final year because he has used up his
NCAA eligibility. Mike Latendresse, who had 20 goals and 19 assists,
learned 10 days ago there was a possibility his college career was over.
Coach Shawn Walsh confirmed that Latendresse won't be eligible for his
senior season. "I'm not really mad at anybody. I'm just disappointed and
frustrated for what happened," Latendresse told WLBZ-TV in Bangor.
Latendresse, of Montreal, knew he would have to sit out one year because
he entered the school as a partial academic qualifier and because he
had played Canadian junior hockey. But Tammy Light, the school's NCAA
compliance officer, determined that NCAA rules required Latendresse to
sit out two years. Latendresse said it's too late to turn professional.
He said he will finish the semester, then consider his options.

Ouch. Just when we thought it was all over...but at least they found this
one on their own.
