From the Star Tribune this morning in Sid Hartman's column:

Walter Bush, president of the U.S. Amateur Hockey Association, said Dave
Peterson will not be back to coach the 1994 U.S.Olympic team. "Dave is 61
years old and is about to retire," Bush said. "We will keep him in the hockey
organization. Yale hockey coach Tim Taylor has coached some of the U.S.
national teams and he could be the leading candidate to succeed Peterson when
we decide in June. Dave did a good job for us." Bush said the committee to
select the coach would listen to Herb Brooks if he has some interest. "I would
think that Brooks is more interested in an NHL job than one with the Olympic
movement," Bush said. (end of note)

I personally think that Herb Brooks doesn't have a chance, he just won't
schmooze the right people and that's his personal choice. I would love to see
Herb get another shot, but I don't think it will happen. Another coach that I
think would do a great job is Shawn Walsh, he's really turned that Maine
program around! It's time to get another COLLEGE coach. That's what Herb was in
1980, ever since then there have been no "college" coaches chosen and there
 have been no medals either.
