This weekend will see Clarkson and St. Lawrence play fellow ECAC teams,
Princeton and Yale, in continuation of the regular season. Princeton
will be at Clarkson and Yale will be at St. Lawrence tonight.

Clarkson is looking to regain its winning stride, including the Soviet
Select team, Clarkson has lost three of the last four games (SLU, Soviet
and Ohio St.). The fifth games wasn't too pretty either, the OT win
against RPI. Clarkson will be without the services of two freshmen:
forward Markko Tuomainen and defenseman Brian Mueller, both are playing
in the Junior Worlds. Clarkson will have to concentrate on playing
their game, not playing down to the opponent, staying out of the penalty
box and scoring on the power play (this has been a sore spot this year).

St. Lawrence, on the other hand, hasn't lost since their Thanksgiving
tournament in Canada, going 0-1-1, and to Cornell the weekend before
that. They did lose to the other Soviet team though. They've beaten
RPI twice and Clarkson away in December. With their powerful office and
Spagnoletti becoming a force in goal, St. Lawrence should come away with
all four points this weekend.

Princeton has won 2 of their last 3 ECAC games (I believe), however, the
North Country road trip is not conducive for perpetuating any winning
streaks. This is especially true for the young Tiger squad. Maybe
they'll catch Clarkson on their bad Friday night routine and make a go
of it.

Yale will challenge both teams this weekend. They have a top scorer in
Kaufman who will test the home goalies and defense. Yale will have to
try and keep their winning momentum going for the second semester,
something that they failed to do last year. Yale was 1-3 versus
Clarkson last year, losing the two ECAC quater-final and one regular
season game at Walker Arena.
